Background

Building on a decade of Innovations

Introduction

Entity Computing started life more than 10 years ago as an unified computing project within Net2MAX Labs. It went through four stages with increasing scope:

Net2MAX 1.0 – Unified Phone Service (Voice, Fax, SMS, IVR)
Net2MAX 2.0 – Unified Application Service (added Web, Multimedia, Storage)
Net2MAX 3.0 – Unified Online Service (added Centralised Management)
Entity Computing – Unified Computing Service (added Private Ownership)

Net2MAX 1.0 and 2.0

Net2MAX Labs has been leading the world in the research and development of Voice over IP technologies (commercial deployment since 1997 with Net2MAX 1.0) and Unified Messaging technologies (commercial deployed since 2000 with Net2MAX 2.0) for more than a decade.

Two examples:

Net2MAX 3.0

With our information environments becoming more dynamic, complex and valuable, a management layer was added on top of Net2MAX 2.0 in 2003 to create the world’s first unified information manager to cover the full spectrum of applications and infrastructures:

Entity Computing

The increasing centralisation information services (e.g. through Cloud Computing) goes against the decentralised nature of the Internet, creating numerous problems.

Centralisation of ownership and control benefits no one except those at the centre. A new way of doing information processing is urgently required.

Since 2010, Net2MAX Labs has been building a new information ecosystem based the most basic principles from nature ( self-similarity, evolution and collaboration ) resulting in a new computing paradigm that benefits everyone – Entity Computing.

Entity Computing is built on a lot of components from Net2MAX 3.0 but has been specifically engineered from the ground up to not only withstand the rapid changes in technology and market, but actually takes advantage of those changes to benefit everyone … effectively and equitably.
